Year 2

This week in Year Two:

In maths this week we have been learning about equal and unequal parts. We’ve also begun to look at the fraction of shapes – half and quarter. During English we wrote a letter to ask Granny, from our story, what life was like in the past and which toys she had. We also wrote a diary entry as if we were a child at school during the Blitz. In science we investigated the question “Are children the same height in every year group in school?” We used our measuring skills, we looked at the data, looked for patterns and made a conclusion. In Forest School we explored the forest area with out our sense of sight. We wore a blindfold and our partner had to give us clear instruction to help us move around. During RE we have been learning the Easter Story, this week we wrote about how the people in the story might have felt. In Art On Wednesday we really enjoyed performing our poem and song at the Spring Show, we hope those who came enjoyed watching us. On Thursday we had a live online assembly about rail safety skills called “Switched On!” We made a poster about we had learned.
