PE and Sport at Sharples Primary

At Sharples Primary School PE, Sport and Physical Activity are a high priority. Our PE programme is designed to develop children’s basic physical competencies, build confidence in their ability and create the foundations for a lifelong love of sport, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. Our extra-curricular activities are planned and delivered at times to suit the school community, and they are free of charge to ensure access for all. Competitive sport opportunities are a high priority to give all children the opportunity to represent school.

Sport Premium Spending

The PE and Sport Premium is government funding for school to spend on helping children be more healthy and active. It is used to make sustainable improvements to the PE, sport and physical activity that school provides using the 5 Key Indicators outlined below.

The document below outlines our spending plan for the current academic year.

Club Timetables

At Sharples Primary we are extremely proud to offer the children experience in a broad range of sports and activities. These are offered to all pupils. The Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school. Our clubs help our children to achieve this goal!
